Untitled Poem #1

By Christopher Back, Concentric Circles.

11/10/17

I am honestly enamored.

Hopelessly hopeful,

Fearfully fearful, and

Pessimistically optimistic.

My head wants to jump

Four miles ahead of my body,

Yet my heart reels me back,

With the ferocity of a fisherman,

With a ten pound fish on the line.

I wouldn’t be surprised if I were the fish.

Perhaps, a salmon.

Swimming upstream of what I must do.

And being pulled, in a magnetic way,

In the direction of you.

A graphic featuring concentric circles in turquoise against a yellow background, with the word 'Concentric Circles' creatively arranged around the design.
